Why It's Curated:

This 1976 Porsche 912E is for sale in Sparkill, NY. We are fans of yellow Porsche's, particularly 911/912s from the 1970s. This example looks great in its one repaint, and should be running well with its rebuilt engine. The cork color interior looks really clean as well. These 4 cylinder cars are known for having different handling characteristics than their 6 cylinder counterparts and many think that they handle better given the lower weight in the rear of the car.

Anything Else:

1/ Engine rebuild - Do you have details on the rebuild, when it was done (year, mileage), what was specifically done during the rebuild

Seller: "Unfortunately we don’t have anything to substantiate the engine rebuild except for our own inspection which shows that it runs exceptionally well. The dealer from which it was purchased is reputable and we have no reason to believe he is not telling the truth."

2/ Transmission / Clutch - Any update on whether these were done at the time of the engine rebuild?

Seller: "I’m not aware of the gearbox being rebuilt at that time, but it would not surprise me if it were done at some point. It shifts extremely well and performs as it should. I’m sure the clutch was replaced at some point but again we don’t have any documentation."

3/ Paint - When was this completed?

Seller: "We were told that it was done under previous PCA member ownership while in California. Judging by the quality of the work, which is excellent, I’d put it at around 4-5 years ago. There is no evidence of body work, only a cosmetic repaint. The paintwork is top notch."

4/ Records - Do you have any records that we could share?

Seller: "Please see #1."

Seller: "For the sake a transparency, I’m willing to connect a potential buyer with the previous selling dealer. He only has exceptional automobiles and has been in our business for many years."
5/ Vehicle History:
Seller: "Its last owner was located in Southern California, a PCA member with many other Porsche’s in his collection. It was original registered in California and has remained there from day one. It’s been in NY for a very short period. It is exceptional."
