Westfalia, Back in the USA in 2024

Westfalia, Back in the USA
Westfalia, renowned for its classic Volkswagen-based campers with pop-up roofs, is set to make a  return to the American market in 2024 after an absence of nearly two decades. However, enthusiasts should note that their upcoming line of RVs won't be Volkswagen-based. The announcement came via a succinct statement and an intriguing preview image on their newly-launched American website, though the specific models slated for the US market have not yet been announced.

A Hint from the Teaser Image
The teaser image on Westfalia's website depicts a Ram ProMaster-based van, offering a clue about their intentions. This suggests a connection to Westfalia's European lineup, particularly the Columbus models, which are based on the Fiat Ducato—a van closely related to the ProMaster.

The Volkswagen Connection and Future Prospects:
While Westfalia is often associated with its iconic Volkswagen-based campers, bringing such models to the US market would necessitate homologation of the Transporter—a vehicle not currently sold by Volkswagen in the United States. As a result, Westfalia is likely to focus on ProMaster-based campers due to their similarity to the Fiat Ducato.  For the full article from Autoblog, you can explore this link.
