The Defender 110 needs little introduction among serious collectors, but low-mileage, right-hand-drive examples in this condition are genuinely difficult to find -- particularly those that have been through a comprehensive frame-off restoration. This Defender was fully restored from the ground up, with the seller noting that nearly every nut, bolt, and panel was addressed in the process. The body lines are straight, the green paint presents exceptionally well, and all window trim, molding, and both bumpers have been replaced. The five-speed manual transmission was serviced as part of the restoration and shifts cleanly. The five-cylinder turbo diesel -- the engine that defines the character of this generation -- has had modifications performed, though specifics weren't provided. The interior presents in tan leather, and the Puma Ministry of Defense HVAC unit is described as practically new. Honest disclosures from the seller include two minor paint bubbles under a centimeter in size, a small ding visible only at certain angles, and a subtle highway vibration the tire shop attributes to tread characteristics. At 15,000 miles post-restoration, this is a compelling candidate for the enthusiast who wants a usable, sorted Defender without the anxiety of an unrestored example.

Check out the pictures in the gallery & use the contact form to get in touch with us and the seller to ask questions and/or make an offer for this vehicle.

Vehicle Details:
Year: 1998
Make: Land Rover
Model: Defender 110
Trim: Heritage
Drive: 4X4
Miles: 15000
Mileage Verification: Actual Miles
Fuel Type: Diesel
Transmission: Manual (3 Pedals)
Number of Forward Gears: 5
Engine: 5 Cylinder Turbo Diesel
Exterior Color: Green
Interior Color: Tan
State of Registration: Tennessee
Vehicle Location: Nashville, Tn
VIN: Available Upon Request
Title: Clean

Details:

Engine & Transmission:
Engine Modifications: Yes
Transmission Modifications: No

Drivetrain, Suspension, Tires & Brakes:
Drivetrain Modifications: No
Suspension Modifications: No

Exterior & Interior:

This Defender underwent a frame-off restoration 15,000 miles ago. Every aspect of the body was addressed, and the paint is in exceptional condition. The body lines are straight, and the paint looks brand new. There is a small (less than a cm) amount of bubbles on the back door behind the spare tire, which is hard to see. There is one small ding on the side, but you can only see it at a certain angle. Aside from that, it's an absolutely beautiful car and has one 1st place for overall condition at a car show.
The wheels and tires are in excellent shape. All window trim and molding has been replaced. The front and rear bumpers are new as well. Overall, it's very hard to find any imperfections on this vehicle. The paint is not at the level of a $150k restoration but it is in incredible shape from top to bottom.
Interior Material: Leather
Interior Modifications: No
Working Heat: Yes
Working Air Conditioning: Yes

Other Notable Features or Functions:
If you are looking for the perfect Defender for weekend cruising or daily driving, this is it. It's never stranded me and is super reliable. I have owned 6 Defenders, and this by far is the best I've ever owned. Almost every nut, bolt, and square inch of this defender has been restored or replaced.

Recent Maintenance:
The vehicle has never broken down or had any major mechanical issues since the restoration. It starts and runs every time and has 0 leaks. I have recently had an oil change and replaced 2 tires.

Mechanical, Rust, Cosmetic Known Flaws:
1. The vehicle has a small vibration on the interstate. I recently replaced the tires and had the vehicle aligned. The tire shop believes the vibration is due to the tread and narrower tires on the vehicle. It does not create a safety concern, nor is the vibration bad. It's subtle but not dramatic. 2. 2 small areas (less than a CM) where there is a bubble or two under the paint. This is located on the bottom of the passenger's back door as well as the bottom corner of the back door. They are very small, and you really have to look for them in order to see them. 3. The AC unit is the Puma Ministry of Defense unit. It's the AC/HEAT combo. It is practically brand new but these units aren't that powerful. Meaning, you'll never be too cold from the AC or too warm from the heat. But it does create a comfortable cabin temperature. 4. The head unit is AM/FM radio. It is new but does not have a Bluetooth feature. The new buyer could add if they choose to.

Model History: The Land Rover Defender 110 traces its roots to the early 1980s introduction of the long-wheelbase variant of the original Series-derived utility vehicle, formalized under the "Defender" name in 1990 when Land Rover needed to distinguish the classic line from the newly launched Discovery. By 1997, the 110 had settled into its most technically mature pre-Td5 form, powered by the 300Tdi turbodiesel -- a 2.5-liter direct-injection unit introduced across the Defender range in the mid-1990s that represented a meaningful refinement over the earlier 200Tdi, offering improved NVH characteristics, revised fueling, and better cold-start behavior. The 300Tdi generation is widely regarded among enthusiasts as the sweet spot of the pre-Td5 Defender lineage: the engine's mechanical simplicity and robust parts support make it highly practical for both daily use and remote-travel applications. Competing in a rarefied segment alongside the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series and Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, the 110 offered a distinctive combination of body-on-frame construction, coil-sprung live axles front and rear -- a geometry Land Rover pioneered on the original 110 -- and a modular body architecture that supported wagon, pickup, and high-capacity variants on a common platform.
