Why It’s Curated: This 1990 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia is for sale in Oakland Ca.  We adore these Gen 3 Transporters, especially the Westys and Syncros.  This Westy looks to be in excellent condition, has low miles and lots ($52k worth) of upgrades like a new, larger, 2.3L engine, solar, fridge and cabin heater.  A good friend had a lifted 2wd Westy like this and used it extensively off road in Colorado.  He said he never got stuck as the engine is over the driven wheels providing great traction.  This one adds a cab operated locking rear diff for when traction is limited.  We have leaned hard into Sprinter vans of late, but a tidy Westy is easier to park and has iconic looks.
